Why Spend So Much on Space ?

" We have poverty, overpopulation, unemployment , climate change , discrimination and many more, but this Government is spending money on space toys " - A common critic from space atheists after Chandrayaan 3 Launch on July 14.

Come Lets Discover whether Space research is really worth it !!

ISRO doesn't eat a lot of Money

India's 2023 Space Budget is 12500 Cr , which on a raw scale might look mammoth but its only 0.8 % of the total budget ! Our Postal services consume 36000 Cr to make their obsolete machinery run....

Spinoff Technologies

ISRO invests on cutting edge technologies for the Space Exploration , which would spark off accidental inventions solving a real life problem pestering the society. It would also give a competitive edge in the Innovation front on a global stage.

Solar cells , Structural analysis software and Barcodes were initially developed with technical assistance and data from NASA.

So investing on ISRO could help us brainstorm ideas and define a better forward looking , self sufficient India.

Inspiration from the Universe

"We are discovering what the Universe is really like , and it is totally magnificent , and one can only be inspired and awestruck by what we find"
              - John C Mather

Universe is literally astronomically vast beyond the horizon of understanding. Its a ethereal canvas stretching endlessly into ink black void adorned by celestial speckle of swirling stardust and immersive constellations of luminous nebulas.

Fascination and Curiosity has rushed into the Legacy Minds by its grandeur and mystifying majesty. This beauty fused with mystery evokes the younger generation of the society.

The Unpredictable is Predictable

Space missions are much more than flags and footprints they play a vital role before , during and after disasters.

It helps in real-time satellite imaging enabling us information about cyclone speed , intensity , danger areas which assists in evacuation programs. Satellites communication , flood , seismic and atmospheric mapping enhances mitigation and early warning efforts are ways in which space programs can impact the lives of people through identifying and reducing damage caused by a natural calamity.

Uttarakhand floods and Odisha Fani incidents showcase how capable ISRO is in disaster management saving millions of people which is tough to put a price tag.

Extraterrestrial Extinction

Though the probability for such abstract , catastrophic Mass Extinctions is slim , extinction by Comets or Alien Invasion is not just a Science fiction Genre but a unlikely phenomenon in the Universe. Silly Reasons Do Exist !!

The Trillionaire Mindset

"The First Trillionaire, would be the person who mines asteroids" - Neil deGrasse Tyson , NASA Astrophysicist.

16 Psyche, has been reported to contain US$700 quintillion worth of gold, enough for every person on earth to receive about US$93 billion.

Asteroids are large mines on steroids so rich in minerals like Gold , Cobalt , Iron , Manganese , Platinum and Palladium which are vital for technological and economic prosperity. In situ Resource Utilization and Space Manufacturing can be potential aspects of profitable sectors in Space economy.
Though Financial feasibility and High risks involved in Equation the idea of a emerging sector seems exciting.

Sky is not the limit

The Billionaire Trio Elon Musk's SpaceX , Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin and Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic have been heavy lifting the fore-front of  commercialization of the lucrative niche industry of aerospace , Space Tourism !

This revolution gives a pseudo , momentary , microgravity experience of the space to the rich. A Millionaire's fantasy of feeling the universe for his Instagram post might be a Billion dollar bet for the Space Organizations.

May be in a couple of decades you might be planning a vacation to the Mars !

Touch Me Not Defence

ISRO severs as High Resolution Eagle Eye on our annoying neighbors who endeavor to break the peace and law in the country with their evil eyes. From close port construction , metallic birds , terrorist infrastructure and roadway construction in the borders , the ISRO's formidable "Sky Spies" along with 17000 ISROians keep billions of people safe in their homes.

ISRO's celestial entities also help in secure communication of Indian Navy, Air - force and Terrestrial Army.

ISRO is Becoming Profitable

In the last five years ISRO had earned nearly 1100 Crores by successfully launching 177 foreign satellites from 19 countries - Australia , Brazil , Canada , Colombia, Finland , France , Israel , Italy , Japan , Lithuania , Luxembourg , Malaysia , Netherlands , United Kingdom , United States of America.

ISRO's low cost affordability , reliability and reputation has exponentially sky rocketed due to its ambitious accomplishments in recent Space programs thereby slicing 2% of the global space economy.

Innate Nature of Problems

Social Issues like Unemployment , Poverty , Overpopulation , Corruption , Inequality and Discrimination can never be eradicated and will exist until Humanity exits in this freaking world ! So Innovation and Technological advancements cannot be compromised for the sake of ever- existing complications.

The Pride Factor

Chandrayaan 3's triumph literally elated 1.4 Billion Indian hearts with so much self esteem and pride that they were "on the moon ".

The excitement , energy and unity during the week of Landing was just amazing. These vital moments and leaps in Technology boosts the spirits of people to integrate and empower their patriotism.

So ISRO is not a space organization using its gravity of knowledge to act as black hole sucking in money and not giving anything back in return but its a powerful global entity representing India on the Technological front aiming to redefine the standards of the Space Industry.

Why Insects are Attracted to LIGHT ?

Insect's existential attraction towards Alluring Light...... Come Let's unveil the Mystery of Light and the Insect !!! 1) Navigation 🧭:              Insects like moths and beetles 🐞 use moon 🌙 as a reference to navigate during the night. But these artificial sources of light disrupt their navigation systems and fool them. 2) Mating and Instinct :              Stuck in a dark den , if you find a light you are pushed to think that it is the way out. Same happens with these innocent beings. They also think 🤔 these bright spots to be Mating Places. 3) Heat and UV attraction :               During low temperatures in atmosphere in the night Insects see these Lights as a Source of Heat 🔥. Some insects are also extra sensitive to UV and get attracted to artificial light sources. So whether it is a Philips or Orient light it would be considered great only if attracts Insects

Adithya L1 - A Leap Towards the Sun

An Indian by heart with a metallic exoskeleton took a ambitious leap on September 2 at 11:50 from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh with a vision of exploring the Sun and its flaky skin.             Aditya L1 , India's first space - based solar observatory housed with seven payloads ( instruments ) successfully embarked on its journey towards the void from second launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre in AP.              Aditya L1 is aiming to reach at the L1 ( Langrage 1 ) , where it is going to observe the dynamics of Sun's Chromosphere and Corona , study the physics behind partially ionized plasma and Coronal Mass Ejections    ( CMEs ) and comprehend on space weather and origin , composition and dynamics of solar wind. $ Langrage.....These are positions in space where gravitational forces of a two body systems like th...
